Kate Koenig

April 30th at 4PM

Kate Koenig will be performing their original, experimental folk music live at 11 Newel Gallery. Their sound, which is influenced by artists such as Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, and the Shins, coupled with the artwork on exhibit will provide a unique atmosphere for your experience at the gallery. Be sure to come by and catch the full performance!

Kate Koenig is a very hungry experimental-folk caterpillar who eats Fleet Foxes’ progressivism and Kate Bush’s iconoclasticism and Jeff Buckley’s zeal and Leonard Cohen’s disenchantment, and is still eating while you read this bio. They are also a fierce advocate for mental health awareness, which comes out in the deeply personal, introspective theater of their music.

Based in Brooklyn, Kate has played at NYC’s Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2, Pianos, Berlin, and Pete’s Candy Store. In June of 2019, they released their debut album Haircuts for Barbers, and in January of 2021 they released their sophomore album Etemenanki, both of which can be found on all streaming platforms.
